Reading Towards Action

Informed by the writings of Paulo Freire, Reading Towards Action was kick-started in 2009 by reading Brian K. Murphy’s book Transforming Ourselves, Transforming the World: An Open Conspiracy for Social Change. By reading texts together in the conflict of interpretation, Reading Towards Action opens up a space for critical reflection and collective action on issues of personal and political concern.

Our next Reading Towards Action series is currently on hold while we focus attention on this year’s A+E summer programme. As part of our main exhibition, entitled A Cathedral Tentacular, we’ll be establishing a reading room with an interdisciplinary focus on regenerative culture. Do call in to browse the library.

Opening hours: 3rd-31st August, Mon-Sat, 10am-5pm, Sun 12-5pm (with a lunch break from 1-1.50pm).
